Islote Adentro

Just off the south end of Isla Guadalupe lies Islote Adentro, a towering islet that is so sheer and high (~600') that no scientist has ever scaled it to see if species extirpated from the main island have survived here, or if species new to science are found there. This is the first known photograph showing the top of this islet. The Guadalupe 2000 Expedition will use a helicopter to land scientists there for the first time in history to study and document its flora and fauna.
